3 Days 2 Nights Weekend Kuching Package ( Code 2 )

3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS KUCHING TOURS

DAY 1                  CITY TOUR / SARAWAK SUNSET CRUISE  
Upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, meet our friendly guide and then transfer to hotel for check in.  After meet at the hotel lobby and proceed for City Tour.
This is a comprehensive tour where you can see all the places of attraction around this historical city.  The tour begins with a drive to see South City Hall and a visit to the photos gallery about the historical and modern city of Kuching, the gigantic Cat Status (mascot of the city)at Padungan before cruising through Chinatown and a stop at the Sarawak Museum, which is acknowledged as one of the finest in the world.  The route passes through the Syariah (muslim) Court, Satok Market and traditional Malay houses built on stilts, passing through the magnificent looking Mosque built along the river bank.  A brief stop at the waterfront and have a good view of the Clock Tower and a granite obelisk built in memory of Rajah Charles Brooke.  Across the river, is a good view of the majestic Astana (1870) – former palace of White Rajahs and the imposing State Assemble Building, at the Waterfront and Main Bazaar.
5.15 pm.   Then transfer to Sarawak Sunset Cruise which lasted for 90 minutes cruising along the Sarawak River.  This is a wonderful way of observing Kuching City from a different angle and will give you a feel of how transportation to and from the city was in the olden days before the introduction of modern road vehicles.  On most days you will be able to enjoy a scenic sunset from the deck of the cruise ship.  On board you will be entertain with our local cultural performance and you can also take photos with the dancers and refreshment are also provided.  
After the sunset cruise then transfer back to hotel.

DAY 2  SEMENGGOH ORANG UTAN CENTRE + CAT MUSEUM + SARAWAK CULTURAL VILLAGE + KEK LAPIS                                                                 
Breakfast at the hotel.
8.00 am  Meet at the hotel lobby and depart to Semenggoh Orang UtanCentre about 22 km from Kuching.  It is the only one of its kind in Sarawak.  Set up in 1975, this 7.4 sq km of virgin forest is home to orang utans.  It takes about 30 minutes drive by car from the city. This tour provides an opportunity of a lifetime to observe how the orang utans are being rehabilitated and trained to fend for themselves in the centre.  Visitors are allowed to study and observe the orang utans at a distance.  (feeding time:  morning: 9.00am   afternoon: 3.00pm)  On the way back stop at Sarawak Pottery and sinpao (handicraft and souvenir) shop.  Then proceed for lunch at one of the local food court to try our local delicacy. After lunch proceed to Cat Museum which is the only one and unique Cat Museum in the world.
Then the journey continues to Sarawak Cultural Village located at Damai which about 37 km away from Kuching City.  Popularly known as the "Living Museum" the village is a showcase of kaleidoscope of Sarawak's cultures and traditions.  Explore the 7 authentic replicas of ethnic houses.  Chinese Farm House, Malay's Stilted House, Melanau Tall House, Orang Ulu Longhouse, Penan Huts, Iban Longhouse and also the Bidayuh Longhouse.  Displayed in each houses are the many artifacts made by the individual dwellers.  There is also 45 minutes of traditional performance of the various ethnic tribes of dances of Sarawak at the village theater.
After the performance, then proceed to Kek Lapis Cottage, which is the most popular layer cake in Sarawak.
Then return to hotel.  


DAY 3    SERIKIN (INDONESIA MARKET) +  FAIRY CAVE                  

8.00am  Then proceed to Serikin Weekend Market which is very popular for the local and tourist and the biggest in Kuching, which simply can't miss. 
Located at Bau which is about more than 1 hour drive from Kuching City.  During the weekend the trader from Indonesia come across the border and also the nearby areas come to offer their wares, produces and products and also the antique and many more, Such as the authentic Indonesia sarongs, household items, souvenirs, clothing, very creative decoration curtain and item for house to display and also delicacy foods that ranging from home made to farm produce such as vegetables and fruits to seafood.  Along the way there is also a makeshift roadside market selling home made basket and wild ornamental plants, exotic fruits, local cake of all types such as pulut and fragrant locally grown rice.  Then the journey continue to Buddha Cave before proceeding to Fairy Cave.  The Fairy Cave takes its name from the stalagmite structure at the entrance that is said to resemble a Chinese deity Kuan Yin.  The cave's outer appearance is unassuming but the view once you are inside this impressive cave is definitely worth the visit.  The contrast between the lighting entering the cave and shadowy darkness, along with hues of brown and grey of the rocks highlighted by the rice green of the moss offers many opportunities for the avid photographers.  After that, then proceed to Bau Town formerly is a gold mining town for lunch before transfer to airport for departure.

DAY 1                  CITY TOUR / SUNSET CRUISE 

                
Meet on arrival at Kuching International Airport then proceed for Kuching City Tour.

5.15 pm.  Sarawak River Cruise. (90 minutes). 
The sunset river cruise on the Sarawak River. This is a wonderful way of observing Kuching City from a different angle and will give you a feel of how transportation to and from the city was in the olden days before the introduction of modern road vehicles. On most days you will be able to enjoy a scenic sunset from the deck of the cruise ship.  On board you will be entertain with our local cultural performance and you can take photo with the dancers and refreshment are provided. 
Then transfer to hotel for overnight.

DAY 2
SEMENGGOH ORANG UTAN CENTRE/ JONG’S CROCODILEFARM/WIND AND FAIRY CAVE
 
                                                       
 8.00 AM  Meet at the lobby, transfer to Semenggoh Orang Utan Centre.  It is the only one of its kind in Sarawak.  These orang utan spend most of the time foraging for food in the shelter of trees, some come out of hiding during the park regular feeding times, creating your best chance to catch a glimpse.  From here you will have the opportunity to observe these primates and their behavior, emotions and interactions.
Then the journey continues to Jong’s Crocodile Farm. 
The farm is one of the largest crocodile breeding farms in the country with population well over 1000.  In this farm, you’ll get to see over a thousand crocodiles that range in size from tiny babies to behemoth saltwater. Besides crocodile, there is also the local and exotic species of these leathery beasts, other wildlife such as birds, monkeys, cats, sun bears, deer, lizards and etc.  Don’t miss the crocodile feeding which is at 11.00am in the morning.
Then proceed to Bau Town was formerly a gold mining town for lunch.  Before proceed to Wind & Fairy Cave.
The cave takes its name from a stalagmite structure at the entrance that is said to resemble a Chinese deity, Kuan Yin. The cave's outer appearance is unassuming, but the view once you are inside this impressive cave is definitely worth the visit. The contrast between the light entering the cave and the shadowy darkness, along with hues of brown and grey of the rocks highlighted by the rich green of the moss offers many opportunities for the avid photographer.
Then proceed to Wind Cave, named after the constant cool breeze that blows throughout the cavern. Take the chance to observe the many swiftlets and bats that dwell within this large cave and relax besides a subterranean stream that runs through the cave.  Then proceed to the stream to dip yourself in the cool crystal clear water for relaxation.
On the way back to Kuching City, will make a stop at one of the local pottery factory.  This pottery has been operated from generation to generation.  Then proceed to our local souvenir, handicraft, pepper and also our local delicacy food.
Then transfer for dinner (own) before returning to hotel.

DAY 3  
SARAWAK CULTURAL VILLAGE / CAT MUSEUM / ORCHID GARDEN/KEK LAPIS COTTAGE                                                                                  

        
                      
9.00am.  Pick up from hotel and proceed to Sarawak Cultural Village.
Sarawak Cultural Village is also known as a Living museum, the village. Upon arrival you will explore the 7 authentic replicas of ethnic houses.  Chinese Farm House, Malay’s Stilted House, Melanau Tall House, Sago processing Hut, Penan Hut as well as the Iban Longhouse, Bidayuh Longhouse and also the Orang Ulu Longhouse.  Displayed in each of the houses are the many artifacts made by the individual dwellers.  You will also be entertained by the traditional dances by the various ethnic tribes of Sarawak at the village theatre. (11.30 am in the morning and 4.00pm in the afternoon)
Lunch at Damai Centre Restaurant.  After lunch, proceed to Cat Museum.
Cats Museum is a much more interesting museum. This is said to be the World’s first Cat Museum and it contains more than 2,000 cat artefacts and memorabilia from all over the world.  The Cat Museum itself holds many interesting history about cats. There are even real stuffed cats here and you’ll be meeting famous cats such as Garfield, Felix, Hello Kitty and many more.
Then the journey continues to Orchid Garden.  Orchid Garden serves as one of the city’s major tourist attraction offering both horticultural and botanical interests. The orchid garden boasts a magnificent collection of 79,000 mother plants comprising 112 species and hybrids of orchid. Most of the collections here are an exquisite variety of Borneo species consisting of epiphytic and terrestrial orchids, planted in the open, shaded or semi -shaded areas.
Then proceed to Kek Lapis Cottage which is very famous for the local and tourist. Kek Lapis was introduced to the people of Sarawak from Indonesia officially around 1988. By introducing modern design and traditional layer, coupled with new flavours which inspired from home-made inspiration, each layer is tastefully interlaced with various natural flavours in between the original recipe, modern taste and knowledge from their ancestor.
You are welcome to try various types of flavours of the kek before transfer back to hotel.

DAY 4    SPRING SHOPPING MALL – TRANSFER T AIRPORT
Check out from hotel and proceed to Spring Mall (biggest in Kuching), then transfer to Airport for departure.
